Going green?

Adrianne had this great idea to make fabric bags that resemble zip-top bags.  They are good for carrying around gold fish, cheerios, animal crackers, and anything else dry.  So I made a couple.

A thin strip of velcro keeps the food in.

Here is some of the fabric I got with the money my mom gave me for my birthday.  I love the birds and the polka dots from this Moda Sweet collection.  Z and S fabrics is having a 20% off sale that ends today, so you might want to check it out if you haven't already.

I LOVE that new fabric! Moda has a new line out with a lot of blues and red and kinda a vintagey feel. I can't remember the name. I am planning on getting some soon though. :)

The fabric is awesome. I can't wait to see what you create with it :) The zip bag is a great idea.

great idea. I think you could even layer it with PUL fabric and put fruit in it - what do you think? I saw a bunch of these online a while ago but forgot how cool they were.

Thanks and no thanks for the fabric sale tip. It was like offering someone some of your berry cheese cake while dieting.

Alison,
That is a fun analogy. I haven't made that cheese cake in a long time. I should make it someday when I have company because it is my favorite cheesecake still.

The package came today. I am so excited about all the fabric you sent me that I didn't even look at the books for a while. I will put it into good use, as you know. I will get your box out asap.

Thank you for the pattern. Now I have some more patterns to trace. So exciting! I got the batiste at Joann's, too.

Great idea to put the PUL inside the bags. Would be perfect for grapes and apples, wouldn't it?

そうだー20%オフだったねー。もう終わっちゃったかー。残念…。何か買おうと思っていたんだけどね…。作りたいものはたくさんあるけど、時間がない。でももうすぐ春休みだから、何か作ろうっと。

Marie,
I love the idea for snack bags, great idea Adrianne! I hate using so many bags for snack so this will be really great way to save money and waste less. I love the fabric also!
