What's in your WIP bin?

Today I am taking a break to look into my work-in-progress bin.  I used to have a lot, but thanks to this blog, it is down to three.

1)Star Quilt
I made the following four blocks (block 7 to 10) this week after I found the six blocks made last year.  3 more stars, 12 setting blocks, and a border will complete the top.  I am determined to finish this one before summer.
I am not sure about the above two stars.  I feel like singing, "some of these blocks are not like the others..." every time I look at them.  I guess that is what happens when you take a break and your interest in range of colors changes.  I do like the yellow and purple ones.

2)"Natural Heart" Crib Quilt
My mom gave me this quilt kit when Asha was born.  There are four squares (left on the pic) and five hearts (right on the pic), four border pieces, and the backing fabric.  90% of the embroidery is finished.  Most of the progress was made during the last month of the last two pregnancies and recovery time from c-section.  I am counting on a road trip or two to finish this one.
I love it that it says "Natural Heart".  I was going to change it to something that made sense, but later decided to leave it the way it is.  It is a little reminder that the kit is from Japan.  If you are in a mood for laughs of this sort, go to engrish.com.  My all-time favorite is a billboard for Tahitian Noni Juice that read, "Everybody, everywhore".

3)The Christmas Quilt
I am still in love with this one.  I just haven't decided how to quilt it.  I did decide to use the red fabric shown in the middle of the picture for the border.
So, what is in your WIP bin?

Marie,
I am so glad you have a WIP bin! I have one that is way to full and now is taking my time to finish because I can't bear to start another project for fear that it will end up there. Mine has more than I should admit but I am happy to say that it is slowing getting smaller. I really love the yellow star square!

I think "Natural Heart" makes perfect sense.

I don't even want to go the the WIP bin. Most of them are flops that I haven't had the guts to throw out. Sometimes my WIP turn to refashioning.

I love the natural heart quilt but think the Noni billboard is even more funny.

What road trips do you have planned anyways? Sometimes I ruin my projects in the car because road trips are messy.

One of my WIP is a felt apple but I stashed it somewhere before a house showing and its so little I can't find it! My other WIP is getting to the post office to send off your books! Watch out because you'll WIP will be set aside when you see all the great things to make.

Fun to see your star quilt! My top is made and it's on the "to do" list but not quite near the top...

Alison,
The Noni was really funny, until my dad called the distributor responsible for it and made them take the billboard down.

We are going to an indoor water park up in Coeur d' Alene for two nights. The drive is short and I can't do anything in the car anyway because I get car sick, but I am counting on Quinn's nap time in the hotel room.

My WIP bin is deep! I have so many things I want to do, but it seems hard to find the time. Besides, I always find more that I would like to do, and add to my pile. I need to be more like you and finish what I have before I start more.

My WIP is really a WNIP (work not in progress). But, someday I'll take it on again! You're an inspiration!

I still love your Christmas quilt too, and totally agree that sometimes the real show-stopper is trying to figure out how to quilt it once it's peiced. Way to go on finishing up some projects!

WIP bin

Marie, I still have that one quilt that I handquilted to finish. I still have that last row. I think I could easily finish it in a day if I just sat down to do it. Then maybe another day or two for the binding.

I also started a dress from the Japanese pattern book. I figured out which pieces to trace and how to add the correct seam allowances. The pictures are very helpful. I've got it mostly assembled, but I have a question about the ruffle for the bottom of the skirt. We'll have to get together so you can show me what to do next.
