The reason I haven't been sewing was that...

I have been painting. There is no surface left of the old in the two kids' rooms. It took almost a month since my painting time was limited to nap time and late evenings. Kids taking turns getting sick didn't speed things up either.

The bed and side table came from Spokane via Craig's list, a great find.

This desk could also use a new coat of paint, but that has to wait for another Saturday.

I added a couple shelves for Asha's clothes and knick knacks.

Adrianne,
it is all thanks to you! I couldn't have done it without your encouragement. Here is what is still on the list for Asha's room. Bulletin board, decoupage stuff, and decorative shelves. Window treatment as well.

I'm always amazed at those who are brave enough to paint furniture. I'm such a chicken - keep thinking it will end up with great big globs of paint everywhere. Love your craigslist find, and also the darling quilt that tops it off! Hope you're having a good summer!

I love how light and pretty it turned out. I would have never thought gray for a girl but I like it!

I got discouraged checking your blog when I came up with the thuja trees several times, so didn't know to ask Asha to show me her beautiful room. You did a great job!
