new project

I knew Scott's creativity was not going to end just because we finished the trailer. It is like the force of nature. Nobody, even Scott himself, can stop it when it is "on". I usually know something big or crazy is on the horizon when our conversation starts with Scott saying, "Don't freak out, but...", and that is exactly how this started. This time it is a kitchen reno. Scott wants to do most of it by himself. No surprise there. And while we are at it, let's extend the kitchen out into the yard and double the size. Why not?

This is what our garage looks like these days. Scott built the saw table and work bench. I waited for nature light to take these pictures, so no picture of Scott working. I will get that next time.

The kitchen is a mix of old and new. Our plan was to build everything in the garage, buy appliances, and then demo the old and install the new in a short period of time. Our old oven had other plans. It might have over-heard our plans to replace it soon, and decided to call quits. We took advantage of the Bosch's sale of 10% off three pieces and ordered the ovens and cook top that week. Scott got busy and made the cabinets for them.

The magnetic spices are waiting on the only steel surface we have left in the kitchen.

I like the appearance of a big gas cook top better, but I can't tell you enough how much we love cooking with the induction cook top.

Pull-out pantry. When we emptied the old bottomless pantry, we found multiple of so many things, including five Mapleine bottles and many Sharpie pens.

Scott used two heavy duty full extension drawer slides to support the structure.

This is what Scott made last night. A broom closet right in the kitchen.

Starting tonight he is going to work on the face frames, drawer fronts, and cabinet doors. Stay tuned!
